Twitter turned off the API and locked everyone out 🤣 Mastodon signups rocketed as a result.
There’s fediverse drama over the HP* game, with a prominent masto instance shutting down over harassment after the admin refused to ban people tooting about the game. Sure, he had a untidy meltdown in the process, but based on reports, it’s not terribly surprising. Seriously, people, hate does not fix hate.

I’m moving these roundups back to my website. I’ve got a handle on dealing with blog posts in 11ty now, and I’ve got RSS down, so if any DWers are missing the roundups they can sub to my feed using DW or any other feed reader.

People talk so much about early seasons Sam’s body, and yes, I get it, it’s physically perfect and chiseled. But you know what I really appreciate? Later seasons Sam’s body. When he went from Greek god body to marathoner body, swapping out the big underwear model muscles for those longer, leaner ones which his body seems much more able to comfortably maintain, I was so excited. Even better when they let him have chest hair! YES! Give me chest hair! Give me a body that is obviously fit, clearly well cared for, but in a sustainable way that is correct for his body type! With a hairy chest! Is his body still outside the range most people can achieve? Of course. He works out A LOT as part of his profession and his personal interests. He’s still extremely, extremely fit, but in an older dude way. Late seasons Sam’s body is delightful! Give me Slim Jim runner’s legs and his hairy chest and that skin texture that you start to get as you creep towards 40 that just isn’t so glossy anymore as you lose some elasticity. You won, Sam Winchester! You lived! You lived and you’re approaching 40 and you look so good!

(Why does this belong on my decidedly not-fan-fiction-related blog, you ask? Because this quote illustrates very well how assuming that anything where people put sex in it is debasing it, objectifying it, or simply ‘sexualizing’ it, etc. often misses a lot of the real picture of why people do that thing.)

Decided to put all my collected prompts, plot bunnies, and story starters on the Internet, because they’re not doing me a hell of a lot of good locked up on my hard drive.
I collect prompts I never get around to using, have plot bunnies I’m never going to have time for, and write the beginnings of stories I’m never going to finish. One day they’ll perish in a hard drive failure or something, so I figured, fuck it, why not put them on the internet.
